as I have not owned this item for very long, I can clearly not speak to its reliability.

I am extremely pleased. Not only does the player perform as expected, it offers several useful features that are not documented anywhere. To whit: it can play divx, xvid, h.264, and pretty much any standard video codec I've thrown at it. I doubt it can...

Memorex NEVER issues firmware. This player is fine for older movies, but most new releases won't play in it until Memorex issues newer firmware. Save your money, and look elsewhere.

Good Performance. Great value
