Perfect if everything was broadcast in HDTV

 

I recently put together a Home Theater with this TV (newer model # 53swx10b). It has a great picture when viewing it with my HTDV satellite receiver, receiving a digital signal.

HDTV picture, Progressive scan DVD picture great, remote

Built in Progressive scan is weak in converting standard TV. Not enough connections

Making the transition to HDTV? Be sure to look at this set!

 

This model was actually replaced by the model that I purchased at Sears the #53UWX10B. As is the case with any large purchase like this, the key is to know exactly what you want and not rely on the salesperson.

Following is a summary regarding a service dispute I am currently trying to resolve. My journal is approaching five pages at this writing, 4/22/01.

Fantastic picture with bright color.

Very heavy. Dispute relating to shipping for needed service.

Large, Expensive, but worth it !

 

Large screen, Bright Picture, Attractive Cabinet, Functional Multi-brand Remote, Remote lights up,Easy On-screen menu's setup, 4 Aspect ratio settings, Rollers/Wheels for ease of moving it around, AUTOMATIC CONVERGENCE - (MagicFocus) !!!

Very Heavy to lift, (mod-fix problem spoken about above), lack of digital out - coax/fibre, screen shield not perfectly flat, screen blackout delay when changing channels
