Toshiba Thrive

This isn't the first time Toshiba has showed up fashionably late to a party. Back in 2009, long after most every other consumer electronics maker big and small had jumped on the netbook bandwagon, the company belatedly released its first mini, the...

Relatively inexpensive ; Full USB and HDMI ports, SDXC reader ; Useful file manager and printing app

Chunky design and chintzy build quality ; Short battery life ; Weak cameras

An SD card slot and full-sized USB and HDMI ports don't fully make up for the fact that the Thrive is bulky, cheaply built and doesn't last long on a charge.

Toshiba Excite 10 SE review

A cheaper, lower specced AT300

Lower price ; Breezy browsing ; Build quality ; Improved charger

Touchscreen not as sensitive as rival ; Lacks HDMI output ; HD video looks soft

Toshiba Thrive (Wi-Fi)

With a removable battery and full USB functionality, the Toshiba Thrive is better outfitted for business than most Honeycomb tablets, but its bulkiness is bound to be a turn-off for some.

Integrated USB, mini-USB, HDMI ports, and SDXC card slot. User-removable battery can be swapped out, replaced. Honeycomb OS is generally well-designed, excels at multitasking.

As thick as a two competing tablets stacked together; the bulkiest of all Honeycomb tablets thus far. Not competitively priced.

Our speed tests put the Thrive in familiar territory—all of the Honeycomb tablets have tested with similar results, owing mostly to the Nvidia Tegra 2 CPU inside all of them. The thrive ran Benchmark Pi a hair slower than the Motorola Xoom ($599, 3.5...

Toshiba Thrive review

Tablets are generally expected to be "thin and light" small computers with unobtrusive interfaces. Some tablets are thinner and lighter than others, however. While we've praised tablets like the iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 for their sleekness and dinged...

The Toshiba Thrive's very aggressive pricing gives it an advantage over most other tablets. Its grooved back, full HDMI and USB support, full SD card slot, and replaceable battery justify its very bulky design. Also, its built-in file management system...

The Thrive's bulky design and hefty weight are not for everyone. Also, awkward back camera placement and a difficult panel removal process make us wish more time had been spent in the design phase. The LED lights on the bezel can be distracting.

The Toshiba Thrive is a bulky but aggressively priced Honeycomb tablet that earns its girth with full port support and a removable battery.

Toshiba Thrive Review

To date, most of the Android Honeycomb flavored tablets we've checked out have all performed similarly with their platform experience, but as we've seen, some are able to distinguish themselves by offering some sort of unique functionality. In fact,...

Toshiba Thrive Android tablet review: full-sized ports make a difference - Liliputing

The Toshiba Thrive isn't the first Android tablet to hit the streets. It's not the thinnest, lightest or cheapest. But Toshiba's tablet manages to stand out from the crowd in a few ways that makes this 10 inch tablet worth considering if you're looking...

At a time when almost every Android tablet looks the same, Toshiba has found an unusual way to distinguish the Thrive: by making it act a bit more like an old-school Windows tablet.

Toshiba Thrive Honeycomb Tablet Re-Review: Let's Try This Again

The Toshiba Thrive has been a darling of the Android community since it was unveiled way back in January at CES in Las Vegas, when it was still just the

Toshiba Thrive AT100 review

Toshiba wants in on the tablet PC free-for-all, and who can blame them? Does the AT100 bring enough to the table to be competitive?

The Toshiba AT100 is clear proof that specs aren’t everything. The full USB- and HDMI ports along with some solid internals made it look like a good contender in the tablet PC race, but mediocre battery life and downright bad software makes it fall...

Toshiba Thrive Review: A Middle Of The Road Tablet

The Toshiba Thrive may seem fashionably late to the Android Honeycomb tablet party, but considering the fate of certain other rushed-to-market tablets, perhaps there was a good reason for that. Toshiba endeavored to give users features missing from...

Though the Thrive does have some stand out features, it still strikes me as a middle of the road tablet choice. That’s not necessarily bad, because plenty of consumers are middle of the road types. If you’re looking for a tablet that oozes style and...

Toshiba Thrive Review

TabletPCReview puts the Toshiba Thrive through the paces to see if the handy function trumps slick form in this Honeycomb tablet review

Full-sized USB, SD card, and HDMI inputs ; Good build quality, grip friendly design ; Works with USB keyboards and other USB accessories

Mediocre display ; Subpar speaker

Toshiba may have taken its time getting the Thrive on store shelves, but that time was obviously well spent crafting an excellent tablet that fills a much-needed niche among like devices
