I purchased the JVC Everio MG630 a few weeks ago and am pretty satisfied with it thus far.  I shopped around quite a bit and chose this particular product because I like the idea of having a 60 GB hard drive with the option of using memory cards.

The price range for budget camcorders has changed much recently. The MG630, released on March 1st of 2009 as a member of JVC's Everio G Series line, is in that group or reasonably priced electronics.
