This card sounds great for both gaming and listening to music. Make sure you have a pair of nice speakers to really enjoy the sound ; Works out of the box in windows and Linux (Fedora 16). Although, it took a while of fidgeting with the audio settings...

Sounds beautiful, if your a gamer you need one of these. This combined with a good set of headphones will make anything you play sound like magic in your ears. If all you have is some on board sound chip, you are truly missing out

This doesnt come built on to mother boards. but thats not a con of this card, its a con for the world, its a shame that mother board companies take the time to put inferior sound chips on their boards

Better than On-board audio codecs by along shot, so many options in the software that I can't even begin to tell you
