Has Sonos created a wireless digital music system that can satisfy an audiophile?
The Sonos Digital Music System certainly doesn’t disappoint on the first count. After digging all of the various components out of their various boxes (and there were a LOT of boxes), I had the system connected to my PC and streaming music from the...

Sonos ZonePlayer ZP80
Recensione esperto da : Mike Kobrin (pcmag.com)
Sonos, one of the biggest names in multiroom digital audio, has released the Sonos ZonePlayer 80 ($999), a more affordable version of the ZonePlayer 100. Using a wireless network, the ZonePlayer 80 lets you play the thousands of digital music files...
Compact. Excellent audio quality. Broad file format support. Very easy setup.
No WM DRM, FairPlay, or WMA Lossless support. No photo support. Controller lacks a headphone output.
This is a truly excellent wireless audio solution for people who already have a good home stereo system and audio playback devices in multiple rooms. And it's surprisingly easy to set up.

Sonos Digital Music System (ZP80 bundle)
The Sonos ZP80 bundle is sleekly designed, it's easy to set up, and its wireless, color-screen remote allows you to access your music from anywhere in the house. The Sonos system is also easily expandable (to as many as 32 rooms), now incorporates...
The Sonos system doesn't play copy-protected WMA or AAC files; the remote's rechargeable battery isn't removable.
With its ZP80 bundle, Sonos has done what fans of its highly regarded multiroom Digital Music System have requested all along: ditched the built-in amp of the ZP100, added digital audio outputs, and lowered the price. The recent Rhapsody integration is...

Sonos ZonePlayer ZP80
Recensione esperto da : Michael Brown (maximumpc.com)
ALERT: Your days of having to stream music through your PC are over! Sonos now delivers the ability to stream straight from Rhapsody!
The drawback to this design is that the first Zone Player you install must be hardwired to your router. Unless you have Ethernet to a stereo, that unit is essentially wasted. (It’ll play your music, but that’s redundant because your PC can do the same...

When Sonos first released its Digital Music System last year it got some excellent reviews. Allowing you to beam music wirelessly to any room in your home and orchestrate the entire process from a neatly designed remote control, it looked a winner....
We love the remote control, but the need for an ethernet connection is a real flaw with the Sonos. Considering what you're paying, you might expect a rather more seamless system.
Recensione esperto da : Christopher Jones (avguide.com)
Normally, whipping up new music mixes isn't part of my dinner party preparations, but with the Sonos Digital Music System, that's just what I found myself doing on a recent occasion. The handheld Sonos controller is just small enough to slide into a...

Sonos aims to make its award-wining music-streaming system more affordable
Recensione esperto da : Cliff Joseph (macworld.co.uk)
When Sonos first released its Digital Music System last year it got some excellent reviews. It was certainly one of the best wireless music systems we'd ever seen - allowing you to beam your music to any room in your home and to control the entire...
Versatile wireless digital music system ; remote control and ZonePlayers for two rooms ; remote can control both players separately
Still too expensive ; speakers not included ; one ZonePlayer requires Ethernet cable to connect to your router ; can't play songs bought from online iTunes Store
To be fair, the ZP80 Bundle is a more elegant and versatile solution than the Airport Express. But it's still much too expensive for what it is. At this price it ought to be a completely wireless system that doesn't need Ethernet cables at all.
