Toshiba gigabeat MEV30K

The Toshiba gigabeat MEV30K has a lot to live up to in the wake of its predecessor, the [[prodid:2393]]. With 30GB of storage, the gigabeat MEV30K has...

Internal speaker, direct download from digital cameras, sound quality, battery life

Grainy screen, no FM-tuner, can't charge with USB connected

This stylish looking portable media player comes with some excellent features and a nice long battery life. It offers some great added functionality to an otherwise full selection of media capabilities, but a better screen would have been nice and the...

Toshiba Gigabeat V30 reviewed

If you've been on the lookout for a sizable screen to enjoy Microsoft's Portable Media Center and all the interface joys that lie therein, the new Gigabeat V -- which has finally made it to the US in a 30GB, tuner-free version known as the MEV30K -- is...

Toshiba Gigabeat V30 MEV30K (30GB) review: Toshiba Gigabeat V30 MEV30K (30GB)

Toshiba Gigabeat V30 MEV30K (30GB)

The Toshiba Gigabeat V offers audio, video, and photo playback in a slim and original form factor; PMC software is intuitive; solid processor performance; compatible with WMA Lossless; standard USB port; excellent audio quality; good battery life.

The Toshiba Gigabeat V maxes out at 30GB; display is pixelated; thumb-stick controller not universally effective; cannot charge over USB; no FM radio or A/V recording; native video support limited to WMV.

Despite the Toshiba Gigabeat V30's excellent sound quality and rated battery life, there are better PVP choices.

Toshiba gigabeat V30

The V30 puts the focus squarely on watching and listening to your files, with a noticeably short features list and a beefed-up battery life.

Great battery life ; Sports a decent speaker ; Portable Media Center is a breeze to navigate

No USB charging ; Display is a little grainy ; No radio or recording

The V30 came close to being a very good portable media device, but a few issues held it back from greatness, especially in light of the fab S30. What we'd love is to see some sort of V30/S30 hybrid -- the form factor and FM radio of the S30, with the...

Toshiba Gigabeat V30

Portable media player Toshiba's latest Gigabeat V30 has placed the emphasis on video, but can its unusual design and feature set differentiate it in a hotly contested market- The V30 sports a body significantly bulkier than competing units like the...

The pay-off of this button arrangement is a much larger screen but despite its size (8.9cm), it has a resolution of only 320x240 pixels, suffers from a glaring screen door effect, pixilation and flickering. This makes for unpleasant long-term viewing,...

Briallant bit of kit. I travel and I find the MP3 player briallant. The number of pictures that can also be stored is mind blowing. Great for work as I work in the building industry and I can store pics of previous works.

Great battery life. Screen I find OK

FM Radio would have been nice
