Petite portable media player with D*click interface
Great quality screen, slim, interesting control scheme, extras such as FM radio and voice recorder, lots of file formats supported
Controls can be unresponsive, track sorting not perfect
The iRiver Lplayer is an impressive portable media player. It offers a host of features, has a good quality screen and comes at a low price. Just a few niggling interface and control issues detract from what is otherwise a strong iPod nano competitor.

If you care about your music but you want a compact player, you won't go far wrong with iRiver's Lplayer.
All this adds up to an impressive package that makes the Lplayer one of the best compact players around at the moment. It's very pocketable, beautifully made, has an excellent control system and screen, and a very good range of features.

Great look, poor battery
Handy software ; Easy to use ; Compact and lightweight ; Nice price
Buttons can be unresponsive ; Rubbish battery life
A cute and well-featured device, let down by its woeful battery life

iRiver LPlayer
The Iriver LPlayer is packed with features, including an FM radio, voice recording, bookmarking, subscription music support, multiple sound-enhancement options, and support for both Mac and Windows. It also offers an ultracompact design with a nice,...
The LPlayer's buttons aren't always responsive, and our test unit came with a bug that caused album names to be displayed in a foreign language. Videos must be transferred through software, and the rated battery life is not great.
The Iriver LPlayer is a pint-size version of the well-received Clix. You get most of the same features in a smaller package offered at a pared-down price point.

The nano-esque Lplayer is a viable alternative for those not tied to iTunes.
Compact design. Good-looking graphics. Easy, push-screen navigation. FM radio and recording. Voice recording.
Tiny screen. Some menu options can be difficult to find. Video conversion software can mess up aspect ratios.

The Lplayer from iriver will seem familiar to some people. At first glance, it looks like a smaller iriver Clix. The two players use the same D*click technologythe company's term for its innovative, practically button-free design. You navigate the...

A worthy follow-up to the venerable Clix, this iPod nano-esque player is a viable alternative for those not tied to iTunes.

iRiver's Lplayer is an 8GB portable media player so small and cute you'll want to take it home and adopt it. And at 41g, it's no heavyweight, either.
A petit and stylish player with extensive format support and good audio quality, it's not without its faults, but we do like the Lplayer. And while it's unlikely to have Apple quaking in its boots, the iRiver Lplayer is a well priced media player that...

Good old iRiver's back with another Nano-baiter. Can the titchy L Player charm our eyes and ears?
A novel and talented player at a great price, but not class-leading

iriver lplayer (8gb) review: The iRiver Lplayer is a very likeable player with a decent feature set and an ideal choice for anyone seeking a small and simple MP3 player for music. The best reason to choose it is its small size and intuitive navigation...
Design, Screen quality, Easy to use, Good file format support, Decent sound quality
Poor battery life, Buttons aren't very sensitive
Small and easy to use, it ticks the right boxes if you're not fond of overly complicated MP3 players.
