These may not apply to the machine you purchase BUT: It will not allow me to watch a different channel on my slightly older TV. It forgets all it's setting when switch off of standby at the mains to save the planet!. It takes too long to perform...

Very cheap. Playback of DVDs more than adequate. Timer recording off-air works.

Very slow to open tray, to read disc. Operations (change of input source, etc.) overcomplex. Setup for recording (quality vs time, finalising etc.) overcomplex.

Found it easy to use and for price the quality is good

Not really a major bad point, just have to get use to waiting 30 secs for recorder to start up and read disc
