Sharp,Solid build, No lens creep,Metal bayonet mount.

Lens flare when pointed directly at the sun or towards the direction of the sun.

This is again a true little jewel from Tamron which many users oversee and ignore just because its 3 party. However once you have tried it both on film and digital you will realize its a keeper and it will surprise you more and more,as its big brother...

all.as i stated before.its a winner.and its light.almost XXXXX stars!!

I bought this lens in a kit together with a Minolta Dynax 404si. I reckoned for a little extra money I'd like the extra 25mm over the standard 28-80mm on offer. Indeed, the extra mm's have given me lots of fun and pictures that would've been impossible...

Cheap(?) - lightweight, compact - very good range (although nowadays 24mm as a start range is taking over)

Slow - lack of resistance in zoom or focus lock - not great in durability (but for the price, what do you expect)

I bought this lens as a back up. I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I knew I wouldn't be using it very much. I was wrong for photos outside of weddings I find myself using this lens a lot more than expected. It's truely a very good lens...

Sharp and accurate colorful images decently built, resonable price,fast enongh AF

A bit on the noisy side but livable f4-5.6 not bad but should be f3.5-4.5

A great lens for the price - pictures are sharp, colors are vivid, and the lens is responsive. This is a great match for an entry or mid-level 35mm SLR body. I've paired my Tamron to a Canon Rebel 2000, and the combination works wonderfully. Others...

Color reproduction, sharpness, value, and durability. Lens doesn't slip under its own weight. It's a nice looking lens, too.

the flare on this lens is terrible, and the lens is slow. sharpness is an issue but not too bad, at least compared to the flare. i wouldn''t get it. i got some nice pics, but a lot were ruined from the flare.

price

flare. flare. even when the sun is not close to the picture frame at all (60+ degrees, with lens hood).

Bought the lens for my Canon EOS 3 after reading good reviews on this website. Used this lense since October 2001 and the lens feels grate.

Light lens, good 28-105 mm zoom range, grate over all standard zoom lens.

Very noisy and fairly slow auto focus compared to Canon''''s version (which i tested in the camera shop before i got this lens), pity its only F4-5.6 wished it had been faster lens.

I''''m rather neutral on this lens. Because I''''m relatively new to the world of photography, I can''''t tell whether or not this lens "takes good pictures". All I can say about it has to do with the way it operates. I originally used the Canon 28-90...

Sturdy. It''''s heavy, which makes you feel like you''''re equipment is more high-end than it really is! That''''s a really lame argument, but that''''s pretty much all I can say about it beyond its attractive price.

Very slow AF Very loud. You can hear the whining of the AF motor from 10 feet away. For some reason, my Elan 7E searches for focus for quite a long time with this lens, frequently not achieving it.

I like a sharp lens, and there is NO SHARPER lens in the 28/35 - 105/120 mm range than this exact tamron lens. Even the $1000 tamron F2.8 constant aperature zoom is not as sharp as this lens. The Nikon 24-120mm zoom comes close, but its not as sharp.
