Top quality lens, like that the hood is fitted not like the 79-200 etc whitch is a pain. Not had time to test the strength of the tripod foot which other reviewers have criticised. The Achilles heel is that there's no rear element behind the aperture...

Light and easy to carry. Excellent sharpness easily as good as the 300mm 2.8 in good light. Works equally as well on my Nikon D3200 and D4. 1.4 and 2.0 telephoto extenders work well on this lens.

No Vibration reduction but that would make it heavier and more expensive other wise a great lens.

The lens is easy to operate and not too heavy only 1,4 kg with f/4 so teleconverter 1,4 stil is possible. Fast AF.

No VR, but with 1/1000 sec to freeze birds movements VR not is a must.
