Whether it’s enough to justify the price? I’m not sure. Astro’s made a compelling argument, and the A50’s still a favorite headset of mine. But it’s harder than ever to sell people on “Greatest” when you can get “Great” for half the price.

Companion software features many configuration options. Relatively open soundstage. Sturdy construction. Comfortable fit. Excellent mic recording quality and noise handling capability.

Base station is required to make the headphones work. High levels of audio leakage. Bulky design. Terrible isolation performance.

The Astro A50 are great for neutral sound. They have a very good frequency response and have a well-balanced sound profile. Their bass is punchy and extended, while their mid and treble ranges are well-balanced and accurate. Their companion software...
