What were they thinking?

 

I thought everyone else was wacko when I read their reviews. With a USB keyboard installed at boot it says "USB Devices found: 1 keyboard" then a few moments later says "No keyboard found, press F1". The USB keyboard works fine. There's absolutely no...

Small, quiet, mostly well designed case internal. Runs Ubuntu 8.04 Linux very well.

Have to affix your own sticker over the fake firewire port on the front, had to replace the cover over the DVD drive with another they provide. What the heck with the PS/2 keyboard issue!?!

Again, a great machine with a few flaws, or rather poor design choices. It's like buying a brand new car, no matter how well the factory built it, you still need to break in in and tune it to your needs. Overall, it's still well worth the money. Thanks...

so far so good

 

Overall it's a great build so far; quiet and stable running Ubuntu 8.04 64-bit (no windows on this 'puter, ever). Perfect utility computer for a non-tech savvy parent. Shipping was super fast as always, thanks Newegg.

Slick design, nice cable routing, fairly easy to assemble. If you need a small, fast workhorse, this should be a consideration. Not too loud at all imo. When shopping around, Newegg had the best price. It took about 20 minutes to put together (swallow...

If you get a sata cdrom, make sure you get a 4-pin PC power to SATA converter cable because both sata pwr connectors are only about 3 inches away from each other. Also, the mainboard pwr connector rests right btwn the ram and cdrom, not a great design...

This might have been an excellent computer for my desktop, but for the fan noise and the requirement to upgrade to Vista.

Small, easy to work on (#2 Phillips the only tool needed for normal installation); HDMI output

Extremely loud fans; installation CD has chipset drivers for Vista only
