The DCR-DVD810 won't please everyone, but it does make for a lightweight, affordable choice for those struggling to decide among media formats.

Three options for media storage. Easy to pick up and start shooting. Lightweight and comfortable to hold. Copes well with variable light conditions.

Colours look washed out overall. Zoom is noisy. Footage shot to DVD can look mottled.

Won't please everyone, but good for quick-and-dirty, flexible shooting.

P.S I should just clarify, when I say "don't mince words" I am referring to the manufacturers who push the DVD camcorders as being as simple and the same as a DVD you buy in the shop. No offense was intended towards Ella and her use of the term.

love the 8Gb internal flash drive. love the media card slot. great size. nice picture in movie mode.

focus is slow, and sometimes not at all. pictures are good for 1mpix but with only 1, what are you gonna do.

great clarity on the video ,hybrid is an awesome feature,touchscreen,the infrared works awesome in dark scenes i was surprised,battery life is also decent
