Expert Review

As the 'middle child' in Panasonic's standard-def HDD family, the SDR-H60 arguably serves little purpose. It lacks the advanced features found on the SDR-H280, yet adds little of note when compared to the SDR-H40.

Huge 50x optical zoom, 60GB hard drive + SD-card slot, good value for money

Plain, uninspired design, struggle in low light levels, the SDR-H40 represents even better value for money

Panasonic SDR-H60 review

This hard disk camcorder may not have the refined looks of Sony's DCR-SR55E, but it has impressive features. The most obvious of these is the 60GB hard disk, which holds 14 hours of video at the highest quality setting of 10Mbit/s.

Panasonic SDR-H60 Camcorder Review

The Panasonic SDR-H60 ($499 MSRP) is the company's top single-chip, standard definition hard drive camcorder, and it packs a wallop when it comes to features: 50x optical zoom and 60GB capacity. Nothing in this price range can beat the SDR-H60, at...

These improvements, however, are not without their disappointments. One of the best features from last year's HDC-HS100 and HDC-SD100 was the multi-function lens ring, which controlled zoom, focus, white balance, shutter speed, and iris. This year, the...

Panasonic SDR-H60

This is a remarkably tiny camcorder that packs in a 60GB hard drive.

Compact size and light, 50x optical zoom, Optical image stabilization, Swivel LCD, 60 GB hard drive + SD HC storage, Good battery life, Good zoom microphone

Lackluster image quality, Dim image at maximum zoom, No headphone jack, No carry pouch, No remote controller, Thumb dial not easy to operate

Panasonic SDR-H60

The SDR-H60 is a standard definition camcorder from Panasonic that records to an internal hard drive. The performance is nothing of note, but the camcorder definitely has some allure. The 50x optical zoom is among the most powerful of any camcorder on...

Panasonic's typical claim to fame in camcorders is its appeal for the enthusiast market. The SDR-H60 does not disappoint, offering focus, white balance, gain, and fully independent aperture and shutter control. No other camcorder in its class can match...

Great Cam

It was just so easy to operate. My Mom baught a new Easy Share Kodak and can't figure everything out lol. But mine has made me a believer on New Eggs products. I have built my entire computer through this site and this Panasonic SDR-H60 complements...

Great 50x zoom, was a daughters track meet sitting high up in bleachers and could zoom on her all around the track with a great quality. Yook it home hooked up to pc and in 10 min shared with all family across the nation and they all couldn't believe...

None so far and don't think there ever will be

Good Little Camera

Don't use in areas that aren't well lit, it doesn't show up too well

Small, easy to use. Decent still pictures for a video camera. Quality is pretty good, hard drive is nice to have. Battery lasts quite a while for how small it is and doesn't take long to charge

Almost too small for somebody with larger hands. Software that comes with it is marginal at best, if you really want to do some video editing, get some decent software. Plus, it doesn't work on my laptop (that might be an issue with my comp though, not...

Should be $79.99 at Walmart.

The video from this thing reminded me of a toy from Walmart or one of those really lame police videos from TV where you are like WTH kind of ancient security camera was that??? Why did they even install it if you can't see the robbers/murderers/muggers...

Newegg. They allowed me to confess my mistake of buying this thing and allowed me to exchange it for a nice Canon HD. I really had done no homework and if I would have just read the NEWEGG reviews ( I can't believe I didn't....I ALWAYS ALWAYS DO!!) I...

Bad picture quality and proprietary video format. But most importantly just plain old pathetic video quality. Spend the extra 200 for a good high def hard drive camera.

Great value, but you get what you pay for

I haven't played around with the software yet, and perhaps there are more editing features on it.

Great value! Very small and lightweight. Love the HDD. Nice to have the built-in lens cap.

Picture quality isn't that great. I tested out the video and played it back on my plasma TV and it looked worse than any SD channel i get.
