Apple Thunderbolt Display

The 27-inch Apple Thunderbolt Display breaks new ground as the first ever Thunderbolt-enabled monitor and delivers solid picture and audio, too.

Sleek design. Lots of connectivity ports. Good image and color quality. Impressive audio output.

Reflective screen. Expensive. Some motion blur.

Apple Thunderbolt Display review

Iteration is something Apple is good at. Its 24-inch Cinema Display was good, but it appealed to an extremely small minority of users. In 2010 Apple released a new version with an improved screen and by that time there were many more Mini...

The Apple Thunderbolt Display retains the gorgeous screen and features of the Apple Cinema Display, while adding Thunderbolt, FireWire, and Ethernet support.

There's no native compatibility option with PCs or older, non-Thunderbolt Macs.

The Apple Thunderbolt Display is an incredible-performing and beautiful-looking monitor with a superfast connection, and we recommend it if you own a Thunderbolt-enabled Mac.

The Apple Thunderbolt Display Review

Ever since I moved to a notebook as my main work computer I've become increasingly annoyed with the process of actually moving my notebook-as-a-desktop around. At my desk I've got DisplayPort, Ethernet, two USB, FireWire 800, speakers and power all...

Huge, and hugely convenient, but you could buy a MacBook Air for less...

A good display ; Single cable convenience ; Boon for MacBook owners ; Daisy-chaining Thunderbolt

Apple Thunderbolt Display

The lack of native PC support is still a disappointment. That said, the stellar performance and added connection features, including Ethernet and Thunderbolt, make it a powerful and functional monitor for users of Thunderbolt-enabled Macs.

Gorgeous screen ; Adds Thunderbolt, FireWire and gigabit Ethernet support ; Great to use as a dock for MacBook Air users

There's no native compatibility option with PCs or older, non-Thunderbolt Macs

Apple backs the Apple Thunderbolt Display with a one-year limited warranty that covers the backlight, but only includes 90 days of toll-free telephone support. With the purchase of an AU$129 AppleCare package, the warranty is extended to three years...

Apple Thunderbolt Display

Apple's flagship monitor is packed with features but falls short on flexibility.

Thunderbolt; FaceTime HD camera

Only Thunderbolt input; expensive

When it comes to picture quality you’ll get glorious a 2560 x 1440 resolution desktop out of a Thunderbolt-enabled Mac. The LED-backlit IPS panel boasts 375 cm/d2 brightness, excellent contrast and impressive colours. Yet the Dell offers similar...

Apple Thunderbolt Display

An elegant but expensive widescreen display for Mac computers.

Very attractive.; Decent color accuracy

Flexibility is Mac-niche only

Its only drawback within the world of monitors as a whole is that it is only usefully available to Mac users, and without a Mac powering it, is little more than an elegant paperweight. It serves no value unless it is paired with a Mac computer (which,...

Apple Thunderbolt Display

The new Apple Thunderbolt Display is an amazing monitor that performs incredibly and looks great, too. If you have an Thunderbolt-enabled Mac, we say, what are you waiting for?The new display trumps the previous 24-inch Cinema Display. Sure, that one...

The Apple Thunderbolt is a great choice for those who can use it. It has great features with a glossy finish, built-in camera, and huge display ? among others that we really love. We highly recommend this to MacBook Air users who want that iMac-like feel.
