Touch My Katamari

NOTE: As a primer, you might want to read some of our previous reviews in the franchise: Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari, Beautiful Katamari and Katamari Forever.]I remember when the original Katamari Damacy was shown at a small out of the way corner...

Fun ; Plenty to do and achieve

Same old style levels and goals

But is the game fun? Yes. If you have a PlayStation Vita, I recommend this game. It shouldn’t cost as much as it does, but I still recommend it.

The King of All Cosmos is back! Again. Can he make the Katamari series feel fresh on a new handheld? We go..

I mentioned earlier that the story will seem fresh and fun to new players, but a bit tired to longtime fans. That’s the case for the game as a whole. Have you got a Vita and are casting around for something a bit off-kilter to play? Then take a look at...

Touch My Katamari: Rolling around all over the place

The story of Katamari Damacy is one of the most surprising successes in Namco's history. A budget import title becomes a cult hit and leads to nine sequels and spin-offs, including the Vita launch title Touch My Katamari. There hasn't been much...

Small gameplay additions add a surprising amount, highly replayable levels, still as quirky and addictive as ever

Very short

Touch My Katamari

Oh Katamari, for some reason even though you are the most basic, oddest game in the world, you've kept me addicted for years on end. Now that you've gone portable, there is only one choice, and that is to purchase you and play you. Even though your...

Touch My Katamari Review

It's difficult to accurately describe the completely off-the-wall style found in the Katamari games. One could call the storylines the work of a lunatic. Others might find them strangely appealing in the oddest ways possible. But beneath it all still...

The Ugly: “Still miss clicking the analogs to do an about-face; quickly rotating the sticks gets really annoying.”

Touch My Katamari Vita review: Series most fun portable outing to date

The concept hasn't changed: the tiny Prince must impress his disparaging dad, the King Of All Cosmos, by rolling items of increasing size and surrealism into a worthy ball of junk. Start little, grow large: it's the Katamari way.

Far better than the recent PSP and iOS versions, this is Katamari's most fun portable outing to date. More new stuff would have been nice, though.

Touch My Katamari

Touch My Katamari is still a decent series entry, and if you don't know the franchise there's some enjoyment to be found, though the authenticity and soul of Takahashi's Katamari games remains lost.

Offers the best control scheme to date ; Great music

Squashing and shrinking Katamari's feels like an afterthought ; Four hours long

But Touch My Katamari is still a decent series entry, and if you don't know the franchise there's some enjoyment to be found, though the authenticity and soul of Takahashi's Katamari games remains lost.

Touch My Katamari Review

Touch My Katamari is a fun return to form that ends long before it has a chance to wear out its welcome.

Quirky humor ; Collectible goodies ; Expansive environments

Not enough stages

Fortunately, there are plenty of reasons to keep playing even after you beat every stage and see the closing credits. Each stage contains several hidden objects known as curios, and a missing royal cousin is lurking somewhere in each environment. The...
