Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon

Nintendo's brilliant 3DS ghost-buster gives Mario's younger brother a chance to shine.

Great ghost-busting gameplay ; Lovable characters and animation ; Lots to discover ; Excellent 3D

Multiplayer is OK but not amazing

Best of all, the mansion of the title is just the start. The retrieval of a new moon fragment opens up new areas of the haunted valley, including towers full of dodgy pipework and slightly too carnivorous plants and a spooky factory. Each displays the...

Luigi’s Mansion 2 review

Luigi's Mansion 2 turns Mario's sidekick into the star of the show

Sublime controls ; Gorgeous visuals ; “Yellaaaaaaaw!”

Silly plot ; Glitchy online mode ; Pedestrian mission structure

Luigi's Mansion 2

Luigi is back, and there are plenty more ghosts to sort out. This time though in glorious 3D

It's great to see Luigi back in his own game and busting ghosts, besides the lack of mid-mission checkpoints there is enough charm and stuff to do that make it an overwhelmingly fun time.

Luigi’s Mansion 2 review: Nintendo's long awaited sequel will suck you in

An absolute must play.

Luigi’s Mansion is a piece of Nintendo magic and one of the publisher’s most innovative since Super Mario Galaxy. It loses a little of the charm of the GameCube original, but that allows it to become its own game. With lavish visuals and a resonating...

Luigi's Mansion 2 3DS Review

The lesser known of the two Italian brothers takes the spotlight as the green-overalled one steps out of the (rather large) shadow of his red-overalled sibling to adventure solo in Luigi's Mansion 2 (also known Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon). In this...

Smart puzzles ; Great level design ; Funny and well presented ; Varied enemies

Poor save system ; Weak multiplayer

Luigi's Mansion 2 review: Poltergeist-hoovering sequel is utterly phantastic

One of the complaints levelled at Luigi's GameCube-shifting original, back in 2002, was that it was simply too short. Weighing in at a little under four hours,

Long campaign, beautifully seeded with secrets and collectables ; Rammed with personality ; Makes perfect use of the 3DS

Occasional, annoying backtracking

Luigi’s Mansion 2 review – dark moon rising

The less famous of the two Mario brothers gets his own game on the 3DS – and it turns out to be one of the best Nintendo titles in years.

Pitch perfect presentation and visuals, with an elegant mix of simple combat and disarmingly complex puzzles. Excellent bosses and plenty of variety. Entertaining multiplayer

There’s not really much depth to the combat, and the lack of signposting may annoy some players

Utterly charming and subversively clever in that classic Nintendo way, this is one of the best games on the 3DS and one of the mostly perfectly polished titles on any system this year.

Luigi's Mansion 2 Review

A few minor missteps don't manage to detract from what is one of the best games on the system.

Great control scheme ; Brimming with character ; Loads of stuff to find

Abrupt level endings, lack of checkpoints

Completed single-player on normal difficulty in 15 hours. Played multiplayer for around 2/3 hours.

Luigi's Mansion 2: Im Kurztest
