Techradar Great Value 2016

Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 review

A traveler's best friend

Incredible 24 hour battery life ; Multi-point Bluetooth ; Amiable sound

Bass overwhelming at times ; Styling not for everyone

The Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 offer insane battery life, great sound quality and good active noise cancellation for the price. It may not offer the best noise cancellation in the segment but they’re an undeniably good value for what you’re getting.

Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2 review: The best sub-£200 ANC headphones

They do get a little uncomfortable during long listening session, but they're undeniably good value for money

Beautiful design ; Mind blowing bass ; Good ANC capabilities

A little uncomfortable ; Might be too bass-heavy for some

If you’re looking for a set of wireless headphones that have ANC, a ton of bass, a clever design and cost less than £200, get the Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2 – there simply isn’t aren’t any better over-the-ear ANC headphones at this price.

Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2 review

Decent price and plenty of features, but unchecked bass drags the sound down

Fairly smooth sound ; Enjoyably large soundstage ; Good battery life ; Feature-packed

Only moderately effective noise cancellation ; Soft, slow and overblown low frequencies

There’s talent here, but the overall performance is let down by poor bass

Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2

The Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2 are one of a growing sea of over-ear wireless headphones with active noise cancellation (ANC), gunning for the same space as the Bose QuietComfort 35.

Solid wireless over-ear headphones that won’t be beaten for value.

Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 review

In the realm of headphones , noise-canceling models -- those battery-powered ones that filter out unwanted external sounds like traffic din or jet-engine noise -- represent the cream of the crop. And the best wireless noise-cancelling headphones from...

The Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 sounds very good for a Bluetooth headphone, is comfortable to wear and offers decent noise cancellation and strong battery life. It performs very well as headset for making cell phone calls, includes a carrying pouch, and...

While the design has been improved, the headphone is still a little heavy and its aesthetics may not appeal to everyone; noise-canceling isn't quite as effective as Bose's.

The BackBeat Pro 2 is an excellent full-size wireless noise-cancelling headphone that costs nearly half as much as comparable models from Bose, Sony or Sennheiser.

Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2

The Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2 headphones combine solid noise cancellation with Bluetooth connectivity, excellent sound quality, and a comfortable fit, all at a very reasonable price.

Affordable for wireless, noise-canceling headphones. Full, balanced audio. Solid noise cancellation.

Noise cancellation isn't quite on par with Bose.

Conclusions The Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2 headphone are a major upgrade over the original. They're smaller, sleeker, and sound better, with improved noise cancellation technology. The Bose QuietComfort 35 still offer the best noise cancellation out...

Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2 Review: Sub-$200 Bose rival

Plantronics cut the cord on active noise cancelling headphones two years ago, and now it's back with the BackBeat PRO 2 to cut the price, too. Follow-up to the well received BackBeat PRO of 2014, the revamped model slims down the hit on your wallet and...

Sub-$200 price tag ; Solid Active Noise Cancellation ; Long battery life ; Comfortable fit

Voice call performance doesn't equal a dedicated headset ; Doesn't collapse fully ; ANC still not the equal of Bose

Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2 review: A lot of headphone for the price

Perhaps you're seeking a mighty pair of headphones for a not so hefty price, the Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2 just may satisfy your itchy ears.

The noise canceling works really well for this price point, sound is amazing with a good amount of bass, well made and good feel/comfort.

There's very little to complain about here, the design does take some time to get used to and we do wish they were foldable but that's about it.

Finding a new pair of headphones can be daunting in the crowded market, but the BackBeat PRO 2 headphones are a very solid choice and have much to offer without breaking your wallet like some higher-end offerings.
