Motorola Moto Z Play Droid

The Motorola Moto Z Play Droid for Verizon is a relatively affordable midrange Android phone with the same modular functionality as its higher-end siblings.

Affordable. Modular backs add functionality. Good battery life. Sharp camera with 4K video recording. Includes a headphone jack, fingerprint scanner, NFC, and expandable storage.

Wi-Fi connectivity issues in testing. Some bloatware.

Conclusions The Moto Z Play Droid is a relatively affordable Android phone that balances price and gives you access to the Verizon cellular network, and can be enhanced using Motorola's modular Moto Mods. At $408, it's more than $200 less than the and...

Motorola Moto Z Droid

The Motorola Moto Z Droid is a cool smartphone with removable backs, but it lags slightly behind its bigger sibling.

Slim design. Functional removable backs. Excellent performance.

Wi-Fi performance issues. Camera isn't the best.

Comparisons and Conclusions The Motorola Moto packs a lot into a very slim package. Were there no Force version, it would be a close second to the Galaxy S7 series. Motorola's Android software is better than Samsung's, and the Moto Mods are genuinely...

Moto Z Play Droid Review: Innovative and Everlasting

The Motorola Moto Z Play Droid is a mid-range smartphone with an innovative and semi-modular design. It's definitely different from other Android smartphones, but is it any good?

Innovative design with Moto Mods ; The best battery we’ve ever tested ; Decent performance and camera output ; Near stock Android ; Innovative design with Moto Mods ; The best battery we’ve ever tested ; Decent performance and camera output ; Near...

Too much carrier bloatware ; Fingerprint sensor easily confused for home button ; Too much carrier bloatware ; Fingerprint sensor easily confused for home button

Motorola gives us hope the modular smartphone can work. It smartly implemented the feature with the Moto Z lineup, and then combined it with a world-class battery to make the Moto Z Play Droid a compelling smartphone. There’s plenty of competition in...

The Moto Z Play Droid is a more affordable modular phone

At least it's still fully compatible with all existing Moto Z modules.

Works with all Moto Mods ; Long battery life ; Includes a headphone jack ; Water-repellent

Weaker performance ; So much Verizon bloatware ; Average cameras ; Fingerprint sensor still doesn’t work like a home button

The Moto Z Play Droid is a decent addition to the Moto Z modular family, but it isn’t a groundbreaking device.

Definitely best Android phone I used!!

Hands down best phone I've ever had since my Note 5. I had a huge review I typed up and my dumbass just hit the back button. The z play, I've yet had to reboot it or have it freeze or lag and I've had it for the last month. I really don't rate or give...

Longest lasting battery EVER

I've had this phone for a week and I've only had to charge it three times. First charge lasted 48 hours. I was shocked. I've had dozens of phones and none have even come close to this battery life. And I'm a heavy user, including hotspot, movies, etc....
